Who's listed

A firm is listed only when all of these hold. Bytky lists firms; it doesn't rate, recommend or vouch for them.

  1. It's registered and active in ARES, the business register, and its IČO is on its own website.
  2. It holds a trade licence, active in the trade register, for arranging services or for consulting: the fields a relocation agency's work comes under.
  3. It's easy to contact: a website, a phone number, and an email or a quote form.
  4. It has strong public reviews: one source with at least 20 reviews, averaging at least 90 % on Firmy.cz or 4,5 of 5 on Google or Trustpilot.
  5. It helps people moving to Prague with residence permits or with finding a home, and has an office in Prague. Law firms, and moving companies without relocation services, aren't listed here.

How the list is ordered

Firms with the most public reviews come first. Nobody pays to be listed or to move up. Advertising, when it comes, is labelled and sits beside the list, never in it.

Questions

Choosing a relocation agency in Prague

What does a relocation agency do?

It handles the paperwork and the practical steps of moving here: visas and residence permits, finding a flat, registering with the foreign police and health insurance, schools and settling in. What's included differs a lot between agencies, so each agency's page lists the services its own website offers. If you're an employer moving staff, choose Relocating staff for employers in the filter.

Do I need an agency for my residence permit?

No. You can apply yourself: Bytky's handbook explains which permit you need, the documents and the forms, for free. The Ministry of the Interior decides either way, so no agency can promise you a permit. An agency saves you time and Czech, and some go with you to the appointments.

How do I choose a relocation agency?

Ask two or three agencies what exactly is included, whether the price includes the government fees, who files the application, who goes with you to the appointments and how they'll keep you posted. Get the offer in writing, and be wary of anyone who guarantees a permit.

Which firms speak English or Ukrainian?

Pick the language above the list. A language is listed only when the firm's own website has a version in it, says the firm serves customers in it or translates it, or the official register the firm is in lists it.

Can a firm pay to be listed or to move up?

No. Firms are listed when they meet the bar and ordered by how many public reviews they have. Advertising, when it comes, is labelled and sits beside the list, never in it.

How does a firm get listed or change its page?

Email partners@bytky.com from an address on the firm's website. We list firms that meet the bar, and correct or remove a page within two working days.
